Basic tying instructions for the Panel Wrap:

Unfold the wrap and find the CBHM logo in the center.

Place the wrap around your waist, logo at the top edge, and bring the ends to your back.

Cross the material behind your back and bring each side up and over your shoulders to the front. Be sure to keep the same edge as the logo closest to your neck. Spread the fabric over your back and shoulders, so the baby's' weight will be distributed evenly.

Place both sides of the fabric underneath the section with the logo.

Cross the fabric again and bring around your waist to your back. You may tie a knot here or bring to the side or front to tie a knot.
Newborn Cradle Carry: 0 - 6 Weeks:

Follow steps 1-5 of basic tying.

Spread the wrap completely down left arm.

Cradle your baby on top of fabric on left arm.

Pull the lower edge of wrap up and over baby's head and body to form a pocket. Complete the fold over your shoulder and back.

With the fabric on the right side, form a pocket over baby's legs and feet, bring the fabric around the baby's body.

Complete the fold over your shoulder and back.

Find the logo tag and bring this section of fabric up and over your baby. This will ensure that your baby is secure in the wrap.
Newborn Upright Carry: 0 - 6 Weeks:

Follow steps 1-5 of basic tying.

Spread the wrap completely down left arm.

Support your baby upright over left side of fabric.
-
Pull the lower edge of wrap up and over baby's head and body to form a pocket.

Complete the fold over your shoulder and back.

Pull the fabric on the right side completely over baby.
-
Find the logo tag and bring this section of fabric up and over your baby. This will ensure that your baby is secure in the wrap.
Classic Carry - Facing In: From 6 Weeks On:

Follow steps 1-5 of basic tying.

Hold you baby facing your shoulder and carefully place one leg through the crossed section of fabric.

Supporting your baby, place the other leg through the other side of the wrap so that your baby is sitting in the crossed portion of the wrap.

Starting with the fabric closest to your baby, pull the fabric up and over your baby's bottom, back, and shoulder.

Lift baby up slightly and put both legs under the logo section of the wrap.

Pull the logo section up to your baby's armpits, keeping the lower edge under your baby's bottom.

If your baby falls asleep, the side of the wrap closest to the baby can be pulled over to cover your baby's head and provide support and comfort for the neck and head.
Classic Carry - Facing Out: From 4 Months On:

Your baby must have good head control before you try this carry.

Follow the steps for a "Classic Carry: Facing In", but with your baby facing outwards.
On the Back: Facing In or Out:

With the logo section positioned on the back of your waist, follow basic tying steps 1-5.

Follow the steps of the classic carry, having somebody help you put your baby in the wrap.
Removing Your Baby From an Everyday Wrap:

Pull down logo section of wrap.
-
Separate the sides of the wrap pulled over your baby's body and move them to the side.

Lift your baby out (if your baby is on your back, you will need someone to help you lift your baby out).

We recommend that you have another person handy when trying out your carrier for the first time. If this is not possible, you can use a sofa, bed, or table for extra support. A mirror is also handy if you want to check anything or see anything behind your back.
Some people will be able to put on a carrier for the first time with no problems. Others, it may take a little practice, but soon it will be seconds to get a carrier on and baby in it with no difficulties. Before putting baby in for the first time, make sure baby is fed, changed, and somewhat happy. Some babies do protest to being in a carrier the first few times, but eventually all babies fall in love with them. Try to go for a nice walk the first time to adjust yourself and baby to the carrier.
Your baby will be tucked safely inside a carrier and you will have both hands free. Our carriers are designed to safely hold your baby. However, it is your responsibility to keep your baby safe in the carrier. Take extra care while doing things like squatting, bending over, stooping, etc. A baby in a carrier is like an extension on your body, keep that in mind when walking through narrow doors, around corners, etc. Remember that your baby is a little explorer and will be probably be reaching out to grab and investigate things. Check your knots and straps frequently to ensure that the carrier is tied properly and baby is not entangled in the straps. Inspect your carrier often and do not use it if the seams or fabric is ripping or worn out.
